etsy will go into vacation mode on friday, and to update on the status of the gulf oil spill donation, that will continue into august.  i was wrapping candles in paper today for a local delivery and saw an old photo of an oil-slicked bird’s attempt to fly.  still angry, saddened, disappointed, disgusted, etc.  let’s keep giving support where we can.

salty not sweet will be fully stocked with terra verde before we go, so visit the lovely waterloo road when you run out of cleveland gray soap or kumquat & guava fig soy candles.

wish us a great trip, and i’ve got lots and lots of ideas to start rolling out when we return.  terra’s anniversary is the beginning of september, so look for a salty-hosted 1st anniversary party early this fall!

british petroleum, this oil spill is enough.  ENOUGH.  i can’t fathom how it was allowed to happen in the first place, nor why it is continuing for so very long.

i also can’t grasp why it took me so long to do this, and for that i apologize, but terra’s etsy shop has now been updated- 25% of all online sales will go to the national wildlife federation for wildlife relief efforts.

if you haven’t tried terra before, now’s probably a pretty good time.  there are also oodles of online etsy shops sporting similar contributions  (search any ‘gulf coast oil spill/bp’ related term on etsy.com), including a full shop dedicated to fundraising efforts.

terra’s taking hiatus for a 2 week road trip west in mid-july.  let’s check back in and see where we are then.  both oil control and fundraising wise.

terra verde is proud to donate 55 lbs of soap to clean the world.  we’re kinda do-gooders, so it makes me happy that this soap can be put to good use.  b/c 55 lbs is a lot of soap.  and we can only take so many showers a day.  we’re also a little bit into conservation…

we were invited to participate in the 2010 green dream showcase, an eco-friendly showcase created and maintained by the beachwood high school marketing education/junior achievement class.

terra verde will be among the local and national vendors displaying their company commitments to sustainability and eco-friendly products.  the event will be held at the beachwood community center, 23235 fairmount blvd, beachwood, from 1p-7p.  come be green with us: bring documents to be shredded, learn about eco-friendly living, and enter giveaway raffles.  (terra will be contributing some giveaway goodies, hint hint, wink wink.)

looking for evening activities, perhaps on the west side?  come join us at the vanitylab festivus celebration at vanitylab salon in westlake.

the party runs 6p-9p at vanitylab, 2495 detroit road, westlake.  a portion of all proceeds from the event will benefit the cleveland spca.  lots of local art, a sweet  spa/salon location, and your contribution to a great cause!  terra will have it’s full line available for purchase, and credit cards will be accepted for all art/craft purchased at the event.

top notes of kaffir lime, lemon zest, apple, and black currant.  middle notes of lily of the valley and rose petals.  base notes of oak moss and white woods.

i think this scent smells like a lovely mexican holiday.  (though i’ve never actually been to mexico…)
